Everyday I think about life in our fascist country,

and how we are not a country of truth or

justice. "..Fighting the never ending battle for truth,

justice, and the American way" ~Superman

What can we do? I will have to answer to my

son, now 4 months old. What did you do to stop it

Papa ?  He will ask.

We owe the world the truth about 911,

and to end the hoax "war on terror".

read this excellent blog:

George Washington's Blog

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied

There is an old legal saying: "Justice Delayed is Justice Denied. It means that someone accused of a crime he didn't commit -- even if eventually acquitted -- is deprived of justice if he rots in jail for a long time before he is able to prove his innocence.

This is also true for the crime of state sponsored terrorism. Because previous incidents of assassination and false flag terror have been covered up, rogue elements within the U.S. government have been emboldened to carry out larger and more deadly attacks.

If the elements of the U.S. government who aided and abetted the 9/11 attacks are not quickly brought to justice, then:
  • The American people will be buried under a mountain of debt to fund the many trillions of dollars spent in wars against Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, etc. as part of a phony war on terror
  • A lot of people living in the countries attacked as part of the "9/11 wars" will be killed, maimed and tortured
It is standard operating procedure for all U.S. dirty tricks to be covered up for 30 years or more, or until all of the players are dead. But in the case of 9/11, we can't wait.

Delaying justice for the 9/11 attacks would deny justice to the American people and to the world. Indeed, delaying justice would guarantee that the criminals kill again, and that America as we know it is destroyed, and the American people and the rest of the world suffers as a result.

What's Scarier: A 9/11 Conspiracy or the Official Story?

Defenders of the official story about 9/11 argue that people who question that account are too scared of the threat from terrorism, and so create false conspiracies which are less scary . . . in order to reduce their anxieties.

For example, Time Magazine says questions about 9/11 won't go away because "the idea that there is a malevolent controlling force orchestrating global events is, in a perverse way, comforting." Similarly, the BBC, in trying to sweep questions about 9/11 under the rug, says "we take comfort in complicated stories about wider conspiracies, usually involving remote, distant figures." And John McCain, in his forward to Popular Mechanic's book Debunking 9/11 Myths, says "We want to believe that 19 men could not murder our citizens, destroy our grandest buildings, and terrorize our country. Surely, something more was at work."

Are they right?

No. Its scarier to believe that the government who we've always believed would protect us was complicit in the mass murder of American citizens than to believe a bunch of foreigners did it.

How Scary is Al Qaeda?

Moreover, the BBC documentary entitled "The Power of Nightmares" shows that the threat from Al Qaeda has been vastly overblown (and see this article on who is behind the hype).

And a former National Security Adviser told the Senate that the war on terror is "a mythical historical narrative".

Indeed, many of the so called "Al-Qaeda" terrorists turn out to be operatives from Western governments.

How Scary would a Government Conspiracy Be?

On the other hand, how scary would it be if powerful elements within the U.S. government carried out (or at least aided and abetted) 9/11?

Well, the U.S. :
  • Is the most powerful country in history
  • Has access to every weapon of mass destruction in existence
  • Has many billions of dollars at its disposable
  • Frequently runs war games and terror drills, which are often the cover for false flag operations
  • Has a lapdog press that will rally to defend and cover up the crimes of the U.S. government while it instead blames every problem -- even the California wildfires -- on Al Qaeda
  • Has a militarized police force, the ability to spy on all Americans, torture facilities all over the globe, and a legal framework which can brand anyone who disagrees with the government as a "terrorist"
What's scarier, the threat from a bunch of ragtag idiot wannabes from across the pond who fancy themselves as terrorists . . . or having people who murdered 3,000 innocent Americans with their fingers on the levers and resources of the world's largest police state and sole superpower?

I wish that it really had been Al Qaeda that carried out 9/11 by itself (we could easily stop such people if the government actually tried). The 9/11 conspiracy is a lot scarier.

Indeed, psychologists and psychiatrists say that people who do not question the government's version of 9/11 are in denial -- that is, that they are too afraid to look at the facts.

Presidential Treason Old News? Here is More Old News: (Where are the Lynch Mobs for the Media?)

When I say that the establishment media are the greatest enemy of the American people, I am not joking! The people in the media, knowingly or not, have conspired to prevent you from knowing or realizing the most important information in the world. They make it possible for the establishment to commit crimes against you, your food, your air, your planet and your country. Yes, I am saying that there is a controlling entity to our nation and to our world. And if you don’t realize that by now you may as well stop reading this and wait for the next episode of Larry King where he will no doubt cover some non-news story that has no effect on you, the world, society, life, the local population and will only effect about 100 people out of the nearly 7 billion people on Earth…and he will pretend as hard as he can that it is news!

The Farce of Veteran’s Day; A Holiday For Everyone Except Veterans

How’s your day going? Are you off from work or school? Do you get to spend a three day weekend enjoying yourself? Perhaps you are traveling or you took the kids to Disney? Well, on this Veterans Day, 25% of the homeless in American are veterans who don’t give a damn about having a holiday of their own, they just want the country that they served to simply treat them like human beings.

You know, it is very hard to be proud of being American these days unless you have an extraordinary ability to live in a pretend world. Or unless you really believe that you live in the pretend world that is depicted on our TVs, news networks included. Today, America claims to celebrate those who have served our nation by applauding them at baseball games and by watching draft dodgers and AWOL brats who conducted an electoral coup of our nation (Bush & Cheney), give speeches in their honor. What a tragic place America has become.

America is a land where a baseball player can earn $1/4 billion yet we have people - human beings, families, children and veterans alike living on the streets with no home, no food and no hope. Tell me again about how great our nation is. This is not my America.

We live in a nation where for some reason the soldier is the supposed be our greatest hero. The soldier, we are told, is protecting us from our enemies and we are told to “support” him or her. Well I have news for you, today’s soldiers do not protect us from our enemies and we do not support them. The enemies of Americans and American soldiers today are the very people who send our soldiers to unnecessary wars while they stay home and work hard to destroy our nation from within. While they aim our soldiers are foreign enemies, real or promulgated, they destroy our Constitution, our freedom, our protections, our ability to provide for ourselves and all the while they do to nothing to support our soldiers. “Supporting the troops” has become nothing more than code speak for funding the war profiteers and the patriots who point this out are demonized.

Well, demonize away because I am saying what needs to be said. This nation does not need a holiday, it needs a revolution. It needs representative leadership. It needs to live up to its own rhetoric. It needs a military that protects the people from enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC. It needs leaders that do more to actually support our troops than give a once per year speech to canned pre-screened audiences of troops who do nothing to protect our freedoms while they participate in presentations where the freedom of speech they supposedly are fighting to protect is suspended and restricted to little “free speech zones”. How they hell is that protecting me or you?

Anyway, for me, until the phrase “homeless veteran” no longer accurately describes any American I won’t be celebrating the great American farce that we call Veteran’s Day. Think about it!

Veterans For Peace ::
A non-profit educational and humanitarian organization of vets dedicated to increasing public awareness of the costs of war, the end the arms race and war

Anti-war Vets Slam Parade Ban

LONG BEACH - Iraq veteran Jason Lemieux might not be marching in the 11th annual Long Beach Veterans Day Parade on Saturday.1108 08

The Marine, who served three tours of duty in Iraq and is now against the war, was hoping to march as a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, a national organization that calls for immediate withdrawal of troops in Iraq.

The group’s application, however, was rejected last month because of its political views, parade coordinators said.

“I wanted to march like the rest of the Iraq veterans,” said Lemieux, a 24-year-old Anaheim resident. “I served my country. I’m a veteran of a foreign war. I think I deserve that respect.”

Iraq Veterans, along with the groups Veterans for Peace and Military Families Speak Out, applied to march together in the parade this year under the entry “Military Patriots.”

After reviewing each group’s mission statement, the Veterans Day Parade Committee, a non-profit group that organizes the event, voted unanimously to reject the application, said parade coordinator Martha Thuente.

“They do not fit the spirit of the parade,” she said. “The spirit being one of gratitude for what the veterans have done. We do not want groups of a political nature, advocating the troops’ withdrawal from Iraq.”

Parade coordinators work hard to keep the event free from politics, Thuente said.

“We’re not allowed to take a political stance.”

The rejection has left many veterans and anti-war groups outraged.

“It think it’s absurd,” said Adrian Novotny, president of the Long Beach Chapter of Veterans for Peace, a national nonprofit that advocates non-violence, VA healthcare and veterans’ rights. “It’s a violation of Democracy, the whole concept which we are allegedly dying for.”

Novotny, a Vietnam vet and professor of anthropology at Long Beach City College, said the situation is especially frustrating since the group was allowed to march in the parade last year.

It also marched eight years ago, he said, even though it did not submit an application.

Thuente said Veterans for Peace was allowed to march last year because parade coordinators did not fully check the group’s application.

“Perhaps if we had checked out their agenda, they would not have been allowed,” she said. “We didn’t realize they had marched until after the parade.”

Members of each of the three groups voiced their opinion at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.

However, City Attorney Bob Shannon on Wednesday said the parade committee is a private, non-profit organization, and therefore reserves the right to choose its participants.

“These veterans groups certainly have First Amendment rights,” Shannon said. “But the parade committee also has the First Amendment right to exclude whoever they wish if (the entry) does not keep within the theme.”

Each year, the parade generates funds through community fundraisers and corporate sponsors, Thuente said. Paramount Petroleum Corporation donated $10,000 this year.

The city provides the staffing, flags, banners, utilities and police protection, Shannon said, but does not play any role in the approval of parade participants.

“The fact that the city does provide staff is a disconnect,” Shannon said.

Councilman Val Lerch, a member of the parade committee, supported the board’s decision.

“They voted unanimously to exclude a group, believing it had a political agenda,” said Lerch, whose 9th District includes the parade route. “And I agree with the board’s actions. For 11 years, this has been a parade to honor and support this nation.”

The city did offer to set up a designated area near the parade, he said, where groups can stand and hold up signs.

“They can stand on the corner with signs all they want,” said Lerch, a veteran who served 24 years with the U.S. Coast Guard. “They’re not honoring those people by protesting.”

Pat Alviso, a member of Military Families Speak Out, maintains that the group is not there to protest. Military Families is an organization of people opposed to the war in Iraq who have relatives or loved ones currently in the military or who have served in the military.

“We are not protesting this parade,” Alviso said. “These are good people serving this country. It’s an insult to be put in a `free speech’ area. We are members of that parade and we are proud to be with them.”

Alviso said only 10 or 12 people from all three groups combined had planned to march in the parade on Saturday. But now that they have been rejected, the groups expect many more outraged members to show up, she said.

Alviso also said the groups plan to take legal action if they are not allowed to march.

“This is a free speech issue,” she said. “How can you have a private event in a public arena?”

Thuente said the parade lineup is set for this year, but the committee has offered to meet with the groups in January to discuss participating in 2008.

“They won’t accept the fact that the parade is set for this year,” she said. “I believe they’ve blown it all out of proportion.”

Lemieux said he just wants his voice to be heard.

“It feels like I’ve been betrayed by the very people I fought to serve,” he said. “They should be embarrassed by themselves.”

Cindy Sheehan: Traitors?

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
Cindy Sheehan

"America is a nation without a distinct criminal class; with the possible exception of Congress" -- Samuel "Mark Twain" Clemens

On November 6, Dennis Kucinich exercised a Congressional privilege and introduced his bill, H Res 333 on the House floor to impeach Vice-Criminal Richard V. Cheney. Some people question the timing of introducing the resolution. Was it just motivated by the proximity to the Iowa Caucuses? Is Dennis actually concerned with our Constitution and preventing a seeming impending attack on Iran? Either way, a resolution to impeach any, or all, of BushCo has been long overdue and was supported by many of the progressive base clamoring for peace and accountability.

As soon as the resolution was introduced, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) made a motion to "table" or kill the resolution. The vote to do so was supposed to last for 15 minutes, but lasted for over an hour as the vote, which was at first 3 to 1 to kill the resolution, started tipping the other direction as Repugs started to switch their votes from the "yea" to the "nay" column (not because they are finally growing some true patriotism, but because they almost always cynically use political manipulation). From the first, the Democrats overwhelmingly voted to kill the resolution, following their treasonous leadership who are boldly asserting that parts of our Constitution dealing with impeachment; spying on Americans without warrants; and incarcerating Americans without due process or torturing human beings are no longer valid. BushCo and Pelosi/Hoyer's Congress, Inc. have rewritten the Constitution with the blood of almost 4,000 Americans and over one million innocent Iraqis.

After Hoyer's obedient move to kill the resolution was unsuccessful, he immediately made a motion to send the bill to Congressman John Conyers' (D-MI) House Judiciary Committee. That motion passed with most Democrats voting "yea." So more than likely, Kucinich's motion of today can languish in committee along with the one that he introduced straight to committee seven months ago. Yesterday, Rep. Conyers defended the Speaker's traitorous demolishing of the Constitution by saying: "If she (Pelosi) were to let this thing (Justice, maybe?) out of the box, considering the number of legislative issues we have pending... it could create a split that could affect our productivity for the rest of the 110th Congress." Well, with the 110th Congress' past "production" of pissing off Turkey and giving George billions more dollars to continue the deadly (2007 worst year for deaths in Iraq) occupations while legitimizing George's crimes, affecting their "productivity" might be a good thing.

Deposed House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is a criminal that used his position as Leader as a personal financial windfall for his family and his contributors. Tom Delay was forced to step down as Majority Leader as a slew of scandals rocked his office and the effects are still being felt in other members of Congress. Nancy Pelosi's selection as Speaker was groundbreaking, and way past time, as the first female Speaker, but she has been, not only a failure but a disaster to democracy. She admitted it herself last week when she said she would give Congress low ratings, too. She acts like she is a helpless player in this national order of things. If only the world wasn't filled with "Senators and Republicans," then she would be able to do her job! If the world wasn't filled with Senators, House Reps, Dems, and Repugs, my son would still be alive and I would still be a working Mom in Vacaville, Ca. We often have to work or make do with a set of circumstances that are not ideal, but that should not prevent us from doing our jobs with integrity and courage. It shouldn't prevent us from being effective, but when it comes to Congress, Inc., it mostly always does.

Even though I am once again disappointed (but not surprised) by the antics of the House of Representatives, I have never been in favor of impeaching only Darth Cheney. Dennis and others have argued that if we impeach George first, then Dick will be president. Well, who doesn't believe Dick hasn't been president for the last nearly seven years anyway? If Dick is impeached first, then George will appoint a new VP that could be just as bad, if not worse, and we all know that Congress will immediately roll over and approve George's choice (with a few token "grumbles"). I have always been in favor of impeaching them both, simultaneously, but I am not so sure anymore. If George and Dick are impeached, then someone who is as much of a tool of the corporate establishment, Nancy Pelosi would become our president for the final months of an already catastrophic failure.

The entire bunch of co-conspirators with BushCo, that some people call the "Democratic Leadership," need to be removed from their positions of power in the House. Particularly, Nancy and Steny need to make way for some leaders who will represent the progressive base and not abuse our commitment, passion, and organizations any longer.

There are a few things that we can attempt to keep Dennis' dream (and ours) alive:

* Contribute to Dennis' presidential campaign. Yesterday, Republican candidate Ron Paul raised over $4 million in one day: giving his candidacy a profound shot in the arm. Show Dennis some support and love by donating to him. He put himself in front of both sides of the aisle and that takes a certain amount of integrity and courage.

* Contact Congressman John Conyers to urge him to now do his duty to investigate the charges in H Res 333 by holding hearings and actually enforcing subpoenas.

* Call other members of the House Judiciary Committee.

* Call Congressman Jerry Nadler whose subcommittee has been using H Res 333 as seat cushions for seven months.

* Support my candidacy and other independent, progressive candidacies. If there is no good candidate in your district, run yourself or search for one to encourage and support.

No matter how corrupt, calculating, callous, and contrary Congress seems, never give up! The establishment would love for us to go away and be silent so it can continue its raping and pillaging of everything that is important to us.

We are awake now, and we must never go to sleep again.

It's Time to Impeach Cheney

by Dennis Kucinich special to www.ImpeachCheney.org

Dennis Kucinich with his wife Elizabeth

As a member of Congress, I have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution and the laws of our nation, and I have pledged to represent the views of my constituents and of all Americans

That’s why I feel both duty and sorrow in pursuing the path of impeachment against Vice President Richard B. Cheney.

While the impeachment movement has generated intensely strong sentiment and activism, there have been only two polls published on the question of impeaching Vice President Cheney.  In a national poll, 54 percent of Americans favored impeachment. In one state poll, 64 percent of Vermonters favored impeaching the Vice President.

Twenty-one of my colleagues have heeded the public demand and signed on as cosponsors of my resolution, H Res 333.  Others in the Congress have claimed they have more important priorities, but have told their constituents they will keep their views in mind if the matter ever comes up for a vote.

Well, the issue is coming up for a vote this week on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, and the “distraction” will require members to balance their priorities between Constitutionally proscribed justice and recourse and the alternative: Constitutional abuse and
dictatorial power.

Only by taking up impeachment can we reinstitute a balance of powers and slow down the rush to launch a new war of aggression against Iran.

I am urging my colleagues to recognize that impeachment will not create a crisis by briefly disrupting their schedules on Capitol Hill.  The crisis, as Americans outside the Beltway know, is upon us.  Congress, the first branch of our government, to which the first half of the Constitution is devoted, has been reduced to almost a bystander as the policies of the wealthiest nation and the largest military ever known are set in secret by the Vice President's office.  Under Bush/Cheney, we have become a nation that illegally threatens and launches aggressive wars for political – not national security -- reasons.  For this crisis of confidence, this denial of our Constitutional beliefs and rights, impeachment is the only cure available.

I urge you, my fellow citizens, to share your sentiments with your Members of Congress and with your family, friends, and the news media in support regarding the rule of law and the imperative of impeaching a vice president who has misled both the public and the Congress about the gravest matters possible: war and peace.  Please join with organizations like www.ImpeachCheney.org in making your voices heard as soon as possible!  Every individual Member of Congress will have to decide within days where they stand.

On Tuesday, when I introduce my privileged resolution to force this issue to a vote, some other member of Congress will almost certainly move to table (kill) it.  A Yes vote to table is a vote to delay the enforcement of the rule of law aside.  A No vote to table is a vote to give impeachment a chance for a full and fair hearing. Please help me get this message out.

And, please help me sustain and expand YOUR platform on this and other issues by voting for me in Democracy for America's presidential poll:

Every election has been rigged since 2000,

Big corporate money decides who wins, the people , you, me, us,

we want, we need, Dennis Kucinich to be president.

Stop lying to yourself. You love Dennis Kucinich

Democratic primary voters, you agree with him about (almost) everything, and you know it.

By Rebecca Traister

Nov. 5, 2007 | Dear Democrats:

It has recently come to my attention that you (and by "you" I also mean "I") are in the grip of mass self-delusion. It's long entrenched, and reinforced every night as many of you swig your beers or glasses of wine, lean over your keyboards and earnestly debate the merits of John Edwards and Barack Obama, fret over Hillary Clinton's authenticity and calculate the chances of Bill Richardson and Chris Dodd.

You are lying to yourselves. In a quest for an "electable," "not insane" presidential candidate, you are willfully overlooking the candidate who actually comes closest to representing the things in which you really believe: justice and peace and the basic freedoms that should be afforded to every American, regardless of race, class, religion, gender, sexual orientation or galactic origin. In an effort to distance yourself from the squish of the Birkenstock and the stench of the patchouli, you have convinced yourself that compromise and pragmatism light the path to the White House. And you are correct. But still, before walking listlessly down the aisle toward our impending union with tepid centrism, let's rip our clothes off for one final, ill-advised fling with ideological honesty:

Dennis Kucinich is our man! If he can't do it, well, that's because we're all chickenshit and condemned to a future of our own making. Yay, Dennis!

It's true, and I suspect many of you think it to yourselves, perhaps even confess it sotto voce to your loved ones during each Democratic debate (especially the ones where he doesn't mention the UFO): If the Democratic base pulled levers for the candidate whose policies best reflected its own beliefs, Dennis Kucinich should win his party's nomination in a landslide.

OK, sure, his reign as mayor of Cleveland was a mess. He has never passed a piece of legislation. He loves to flash peace signs that provoke flashbacks of your crazy Aunt Martha's annual Woodstock slide show. The fact that when you try to picture him at any sort of summit, you quickly envision Nicolas Sarkozy stealing his lunch money leads you to suspect that he might be an ineffective player on the world stage. He is a vegan. He has been compelled by his sense of honesty, and his close personal friendship with Shirley MacLaine, to disclose his encounters with extraterrestrial life. Also, he really does bear an unfortunate resemblance to a leprechaun. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Extra-repellent are the signifiers that surround Kucinich: the hippie-dippy factor of his supporters and their wavy-gravy, pierced, peacenik naiveté. You don't want to descend into the Unitarian Church basement and talk about peace over potluck fruited rice casseroles. Because, sure, you might believe in peace, you might want peace, but you don't want to text peace. And you'd sooner eat a bucket of trans fats than talk about it with a bunch of Hacky-Sackers in Phish T-shirts. It's just like how you believe the music of Bruce Springsteen is important but don't attend his concerts because you prefer not to picture yourself in the company of overweight men from New Jersey who wear unironic mustaches and know the air-guitar chords to "Glory Days."

But here is the truth: If you believe in universal, single-payer healthcare and that campaign finance and electronic voting are corrupt; if you hate the Patriot Act and believe it erodes civil rights; if you believe that gay people should have the same rights as straight people, that America should rejoin the Kyoto Protocol and take steps to halt global warming, that we should invest in alternative fuel sources, that our water and air need to be protected from pollution and overuse, that the government should reduce the amount of money it spends on war and instead work to improve the country's education system, and that going to war in Iraq was a terrible and tragic mistake, then you are that guy playing air guitar, and he is you.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt. It's time to come clean and admit that we are a Dennis Kucinich-loving party trapped in Hillary Clinton-supporting bodies.

This is not such a joke, actually. There is no better illustration of exactly how far right political discourse has swung, and how self-loathing and beaten down the Democratic Party has become, than that among its presidential candidates, the one most willing to consistently, unapologetically stand for the things on which the party is supposedly built (some of your more basic civil liberties) is also the guy who believes in aliens.

If you don't believe me, take some of the presidential polls floating around out there, the ones that ask you to answer questions about the issues and then show you a graphic embodiment of the candidate with whom you are best matched. Try this one, for example. Watch as Kucinich's big goofy head floats toward you, taunting you with how far you've strayed from the reasons you originally invested in the democratic process. Here's a different version of it, in which your preferences are tabulated visually after each answer; you can watch for yourself as Denny the K makes his inevitable, inexorable climb to the top. This one and this one aren't as fancy, but answer the questions and see whom you get. Go ahead. And yeah, I know, you're also getting Mike Gravel: Doesn't that just drive the point home, folks?

It's time to come clean, American liberals. Or progressives. Or whatever nonthreatening word you've quietly adopted for yourself these days in the vain hope that Ann Coulter will not use it in an emasculating Christmas jingle: You love you some Kucinich.

And so do I.*

*Not that I plan to vote for him. That would be crazy.

(I will vote Kucinich) ~ Hello In There
